"Circle Songs" Artist Statement and Price List

Artist Statement:

Mandalas (sacred circles) are universal, archetypal images that reflect the collective song that we are singing together. These circle images are the soul’s energy singing itself into the world.

I believe that what we focus on is what we create, individually and collectively. Art can be a positive influence, uplifting our spirits and reflecting the beauty and radiance of the world and ourselves. Mandalas help us negotiate the liminal space between what ought to be and what isn’t.

Working with colored pencils on black paper allows me to explore shadows and shades of light and darkness. This technique invites viewers to more deeply explore these places within themselves where the light is neither consumed by nor overpowers the dark—where they co-exist in mutual balance. Even if the impetus for a particular mandala is a challenging situation, my intention and focus are on healing and love; I am always looking for the places of equanimity. The mandala allows us to be open to being in the space of ambiguity that is graced with life.

My hope and my belief is that anyone and everyone who views these images will find something that resonates for them—something that reflects their own heart’s song. I invite you to join me in exploring the circle songs we are already sharing.
