Evolution of Art: Melony Price-Rhodes's "My Favorite Things" reception!

Here we are at Beanetics for the Opening Reception of Melony Price-Rhodes's exhibit, "My Favorite Things."

Melony is decked out in a fresh lei from Hawaii, and she has strewn fresh orchid blossoms about the countertops, creating a beautifully festive atmosphere. And she had set out business cards that capture another 150 of her favorite shots. Friends from her mission trips to Kenya have arrived.

Doug, Melony's husband, is telling the story of one of the photographs on display in this exhibit: the cheetah was about five feet away from them. The photo was taken while on safari trip to the Serengeti, during their recent trip to Kenya.

Melony is so enthusiastic about her photography... She is telling about two adult eagles (one male, one female) that she recently photographed on her recent trip to Chincoteague. Her passion is contagious. It makes me want to grab a camera and shoot!

Come on by... grab some coffee, have a nosh of dessert, and listen to stories from out in the field.
You'll be glad you did!

And if you are interested in purchasing any of these magnificent pieces, let me know... Melony is donating the proceeds of her show to purchase school supplies for the Oloosikon Primary School in Ongata Rongai, Kenya! You can get a great piece of art for your home or office, or as a gift for someone special, and you can help do some good in the world! How can you beat that?

Pieces are selling rapidly... If you see a piece that you want and it has a red dot next to it, don't worry. Melony has agreed to make extra prints for those who want them! Yea!

  1. These photos are stunning! The photographer's eye for color is particularly impressive, and her compositional sense also is extraordinary. I'm also amazed by the range in these photos--from magnificent sunsets to macro-photos of bees on flowers--and the human element is present as well. Spectacular!
