An Open Letter to the Artful Dodger

Dear Artful Dodger,

I realize that this all began as my own mistake for posting the wrong image in the first place. And it is clear that you did not like the painting that I originally sent you. You asked me to try painting it again, and did not want the second one either. I understand that. It's all part of being an artist. The normal protocol would be for you to have returned the painting and then I would reimburse you for the cost of the painting plus postage. I deviated from this because we are friends and I was trying to make it right for you. Twice I sent you a check as reimbursement plus more than enough added so you can send the painting back to me at no cost to yourself. I understand the check getting lost in the mail. Sometimes that happens. After talking to my bank, I resent you another check. You cashed that check back in the beginning of July. I have a copy of the cashed check from my bank. According to you, you've had the painting wrapped and ready to be sent back from the time you received it at the end of March. That was 5 months ago.

If you've changed your mind and wish to keep the original painting, that's fine. Please send me a check for $220. If you don't want the painting, which is my understanding from the various e-mail exchanges we have had, then send me back the painting.

I have done everything I can do to make the situation right. I don't really know what else to do? It has been 6 weeks since you cashed the check. Please send me back the painting!

I have other people who are interested in it, and it is rather unfair of you to keep it under these circumstances.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter!
Jennifer
