Reflexciones Serapes is up at Beanetics!

This morning Carlos Rodriguez and I met at Beanetics to hang his acrylic paintings. What a joy!

Everything went smoothly and easily. The artwork looks fantastic on the walls. If you normally go to Beanetics to get a cup of coffee to wake yourself up, you may not need the caffeine this month. Carlos's work is that vibrant and stimulating! Just go in and look at the art. You will feel energized and ready for whatever comes your way...

In case you haven't noticed, I wax poetic about Carlos's work. I have this idea that artists help create the collective consciousness of the community. What we choose to put forth into the world makes a difference. I love Carlos's serapes because they make me feel safe and happy! I think we need more of that in the world.

(And I've gotten used to Carlos teasing me about the first time he saw me looking at his pieces last year at Artomatic 2008. If you give him the chance, he'll tell you how I just stood there in front of his work and stared for a really long time. I admit it. It's true. I was completely captivated and enveloped. Now that's powerful art!)

Carlos has five pieces hanging in Beanetics. Four of them are for sale, and I can assure you the prices are an incredible bargain! Carlos has only been painting for six years, and I am positive he is an artist on the rise... an artist to invest in.

Here's a list of the pieces Carlos is exhibiting:

  1. MOMENTOS SILENCIOS (Silent Moments) (22x28) $125
  2. SIMPLICIDAD (Simplicity) (20x30) $125
  3. PRIMAVERAL II (Of Spring II) (30x40) SOLD
  4. SERAPE REFLECTIONS #2 (20x30) $125
  5. UNA PRIMAVERA SIMPLE (18x24) $95
If you are interested in purchasing any of Carlos's pieces, contact me at jennifer@soulworksstudio.com. I am always happy to assist you in purchasing art for your home or office, as a gift for yourself, a friend, or a loved one.
We will be having a "Meet the Artist" reception at Beanetics on Sunday, February 15, 2009, from 2-5PM. Beanetics is located at 7028 Columbia Pike, Annandale, Virginia 22003.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME! Come by and say hi!

  1. I am proud of my Tio Carlos! We are going to auction one of his Serape paintings at our church fundraiser September 13, 2013.

Jennifer, I felt heart-warmed by your glowing tribute. Indeed, Tio Carlos' works evoke joy--those beautiful, bright, vivid colors!
