Evolution of Art: We're Here Again!

We're at Beanetics Coffee Roasters again for the artist reception for the exhibit of Watercolors and Monoprints by Marilyn J. Hayes--the second show in the "Evolution of Art" series.

The patrons seem to be intensely interested in the artwork...

Come on out, join us for the celebration as we enjoy great coffee, great art, and
great conversation!

  3. Hi y'all! Do I sound Southern now? Cuz I'm in Virginni here. Works of godly figures on the wall await chocolaty adornment atop glass covers. Will it happen? Will it not? The artist said she wanted to, plain paper being so boring as the only medium. Perhaps this is the reason for her own adornment -- the necklace with so many (are they godly, too?) figures hanging bony brown over black ribbed sweater. Winter, you know. Here we encounter the difficulty of an artist as beautiful as her work, or moreso.

  4. Marilyn, et al:

What a wonderful show...! I'm here live and in person, doing the blogging thing.

Everyone should come by and check out the show and Beanetics, especially if you live out this way (Annadale, Virginia)!

  5. Another cool show at Beanetics! It's so nice to see such wonderful art in this kind of intimate, community-based setting. I really hope that everyone in the area--and not just Annandale, but the larger community--will support Beanetics and the artists who are part of the "Evolution of Art" series.

  6. Marilyn's artwork captured my color blind eye! I've never been especially attracted to art, but her pieces have a magnetic quality about them. I may not be able to distinguish between the colors, but the overall message and tone of the works are very striking and understood. If I was not a poor college student I would take one of these pieces home in a heartbeat:) I'm so glad I was fortunate enough to experience these beautiful work. All the best to Marilyn.

  9. Marilyn, I have enjoyed the art on the wall every day at work over a cup of coffee. I am especially fond of the pieces on the way into the store. The colors in the paintings even coordinate well with the Beanetics colors. Thanks, great work!
