Evolution of Art: "On the Italian Riviera" artist reception!

It's a beautiful Sunday afternoon and here we are at Beanetics for the opening reception of Sarah Bohn's debut solo exhibition, "On the Italian Riviera." We are very excited to be here along with Sarah's family and friends. The coffee shop is full of children and adults, all sharing in the celebration of Sarah's brilliantly colored paintings.

Sarah's artwork is joyous and uplifting, and that's the intention Sarah has when she paints. Sarah's palette is full of vibrant, yet muted, blues, mustards, and maroons. Her work is engaging and inspires the idea of travel. Many times today I heard people say that Sarah's work makes them want to visit the Caribbean or the Mediterranean.

As an added bonus: When I walked in today, Afedziwa Hayford, a freelance journalist for Patch.com was  here doing a story on Beanetics! Patch.com is an online community gathering place that informs on local events in the area. Be sure to look for Afedziwa's articles on Beanetics, and Sarah Bohn.

  1. Sarah's art is very nice. I like how it's all different even though it's the same artist. Even by boys, age 10 and 5, really like it. The five year old really likes La Dolce Vita" because of the ice cream cone. My ten year old likes "Rowboat" because there's no one in the picture and "it is full of blue." I also like "Rowboat" because I am partial to blue and yellow, and it looks so serene.

  8. Sarah- your show is amazing and inspiring. The colors in your artwork are so vibrant and happy. Your paintings bring me right back to my 5 year anniversary trip in Italy- truly a great memory as I celebrate my 12 year anniversary today. And, there is not a beter place to be celebrating than at Beanetics and with my favorite artist friend. The Rowboat painting is my favorite- I'm partial to blue and a water sign, so it's very fitting. La Dolce Vita is so sweet! Market in Santa Marghrita is yummy! Portifino is magnificent! Windows in Paraggi- wow, what a scene- love the purple! You are so talented and inspiring. I look forward to many more of your art shows! Congratulations on a fabulous first collection!

  9. Such bright and happy pictures. They make me feel like I am on vacation (maybe that I need to start joining on the artist on her vacations -- so beautiful). I love the Windows in Paraggi. And seeing Nico and Noah in The Sweet Life was just... sweet.
    Wonderful!

My fave is Portofino; I think I need it in my bathroom so I can escape to Italy a little bit each day! Thank you Sarah and fam for sharing your special day - and your vacation - with us!!

  15. Ciao bella Sarah! Quoting my son (age 8): I like 'Portofino', can I have it in my room? Having been to that part of Italy many times, I think you have captured its beauty, lifestyle and 'l'ambiente Italiano' very well! Great job Sarah!
