I am thrilled to announce that the October "Evolution of Art" artist is Vicky Beine. Today we hung her show, and there was a lot of positive buzz about her work. Vicky does wonderful still life paintings. The series on display at Beanetics focuses on Asian ceramics, lush florals, and fruit. They have a classic, traditional quality about them. Beanetics looks richer with these paintings on the walls.
Here's what Vicky says about her work:
I am attracted to realism and humor, and I love to imitate the great masters. My artwork incorporates what I have learned from studying these classic paintings. I love to paint nature and still-lifes that include birds, flowers, and landscapes.

Vicky’s paintings have appeared in three juried art shows sponsored by the Vienna Art Society and in the Moses Art Gallery; in April 2004 she won “Best in Show” for her painting “Magnolia” in the Reston Art Show. Her painting “Irises” is on permanent display in the Inova Mount Vernon Hospital as part of the Art from the Heart Program. Four of her paintings are on display at the Frame Factory Gallery in Fairfax. Vicky is an active member of the Women’s Caucus for Art of Washington, D.C. Please join us at Beanetics on Sunday, October 12th, from 1-3pm, for Vicky's artist reception. This is a great opportunity to meet the artist and talk with her about her work. And as always, there's great coffee and yummy treats to be enjoyed... a feast for all the senses!
